Viols
and viola da gambas were essentially bowable guitars ("leg
viols") that predated modern violins and cellos. They usually
had six or seven strings and fretted fingerboard. Like todays
guitarists, da gamba players used varied tunings and improvised
(Jammed). Read More about the GuitarViol on Jonathans Website

Singer
Songwriter Melissa Gibson is our guest on saturday
April 17th. Influenced by the likes of Mary Chapin Carpenter,
Marc Cohn and Joni Mitchell, Singer/Songwriter
Melissa Gibson's Country music has a remarkable, introspective,
folky slant to it. Produced and Engineered by Vaughn Lofstead,
her songs are a thought provoking collection of insightful
lyrics and rich melodies mixed among some lighter, up-tempo
tunes. Melissa's naturally soothing voice shines as she carries
each song off effortlessly. She is complemented beautifully
by principal instrumentalist and arranger, Vaughn Lofstead.
"He seemed to have an uncanny understanding of exactly
what direction I wanted to take my music," explains Melissa.

Blaine may well be the most prolific drummer in rock and
roll history. He's certainly played on more hit records than
any drummer in the rock era, including 40 #1 singles and 150
that made the Top Ten. Hal Blaine played with all of them:
Elvis, Lesley Gore, The Mamas and the papas, The crystals,
Beach boys, The Byrds, Sinatra, Simon & garfunkel and
the list goes on and on.

Maria
has a voice drenched with soul, sincerity and romanticism that
forms a strong bond with any who hear her.
An
invitation into the musical world of Maria de Barros requires
an intriguing geography lesson. The sensuous singer, currently
making her recording debut with a multi-faceted project aptly
titled NHA MUNDO (My World), is a native of Dakar, Senegal
in West Africa and lived for the first 13 years of her life
in Nouackchott, Mauritania in northwest Africa. Her creative
heart, however, lies in the culturally rich land of Cabo Verde,
a former Portuguese colony located 350 miles off the coast
of Senegal, the birthplace of her parents.

STAMPEAD
is the answer to todays rock music. Compared to the epic
sounds of groups such as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Paul Simon,
Smashing Pumpkins, and Pearl Jam, STAMPEADs original display
of landmark lyrics, vocal intensity and melodic guitar work
have paved the way for the next monumental rock band. The core
of STAMPEAD's sound emerges from explosive front man Judd David.
