of ancient instruments. Check out their blogspot

The
Samurai Seven. The story of Oxfords The Samurai Seven is
remarkable, but it shouldnt be. It is the story of four young
men (Simon Williams guitar and vocals; Matt Williams
guitar and vocals; Jimmy Martin bass and vocals and Chris Hayward
drums) in love with the idea of getting up on stage and playing
pop music for the sheer life-affirming thrill of it. It is a remarkable
story because so much has happened to the band in such a short space
of time, good and bad, but its a good old-fashioned story of
success through sheer determination and graft; inspiration and perspiration
in tandem, self-belief in the face of apathy and adversity. Read

After
charming Orange County, CA, as singer and keytarist of her electronica-pop
band, Nektarine, which opened for national acts and was nominated
for Best Electronic Rock Band in the 2004 OC Music Awards, pianist
Killarney Star returned to her songwriting roots, by settling in the
college town of Gainesville, FL. Stuffing tons of drama into neatly
arranged bottles of indie-pop gems, K-Star mesmerizes audiences with
a commanding stage presence equal to Tori Amos and a succinct songwriting
power influenced by The Police. Her lush piano harmonies, dexterous
rhythms, soaring choruses and emotional lyrics are quickly capturing
fans' hearts and earning her regular places on commercial radio stations
and podcasts worldwide. |
With influences ranging from U2 to Weezer to Aerosmith to Pearl
Jam, 39 Reasons manages to compose original, modern songs that are
commercial while still maintaining an edge. Fans of bands such as
Incubus, Jimmy Eat World and U2 will find a familiar, yet fresh sound
with this band. Vocals hint at Brandon Boyd with an Eddie Vedder growl
thrown in.
39Reasons are
headed of on tour this week and we have a way for you the fans to
participate. Tune in to the show for all the details. |

Hopewell.
A brief scan of heraldic press clippings for their last release (The
Curved Glass) from the NME, CMJ, the Village Voice, Time Out,
Wire, Magnet divulges a clear journalistic pattern of enthusiastically
describing Hopewell in terms of opposition: delicate/visceral, sublime/stabbing,
crushing/romantic, immense/fragile. |

From
classis Rock to Hip-Hop to R&B Alaina
Alexander's influences ranges from: A tribe called Quest, Mariah
Carey and Lauren Hill to classics such as The Beatles and Janis Joplin.
Her husky soulful voice brings a refreshing twist to the guitar given
song, which she describes as "pretty much full of energy, full
of passion". Her music is mainstream Pop-Rock with a lot of soulful,
R*B undertones |

Her song Underneath Your Sky from
her new CD release Simple Magic draws you right

Underneath Your Sky is produced to perfection.

it has been 4 CD releases, Television appearences and a lot
of local gigs. This summer she is playing live all over Los

33Degree
won "THE ROCKIES 2004" FOR L.A.'s BEST GIRL-FRONTED BAND.
Their sound is melodic, intense and introspective. 33DEGREE possess
a magnetic stage presence bursting with intensity. Between Liz's introspective
lyrics, Blair's tasty and often chaotic sounds, Jesus' deep-rooted
melodies and Mackenzie's powerfully convulsive tribal beats, they
stylistically combine to defy common definition." Their debut
material is not metal, not emo, but rather a mix of influences that
range from Deftones to Tori Amos to Radiohead, blending odd time signatures,
melodic vocals and driving grooves. |
